ARS PEDIS
Dorn Warts - Typically a Viral Infection on the Sole of the Foot
Plantar warts, commonly known as Dorn warts, result from a viral infection, typically on the sole of the foot. They grow inward like a thorn, causing pain and discomfort during walking. Conservative treatments (without surgery) can be challenging and time-consuming. Our preferred method involves complete excision followed by plastic surgical closure, often eliminating past issues such as scar pain.
This method is virtually painless except for the local anesthesia, usually leading to rapid relief and long-lasting results.
Treatment: Excision of the wart, skin suturing
Surgery Duration: 15 – 30 minutes
Anesthesia: Local anesthesia or regional anesthesia for large/numerous warts, optional twilight sleep
Postoperative Care: Depending on location and size, either a dressing or a protective shoe for 1-14 days
Return to Daily Activities: Depending on location and size, 1-14 days
Plastic surgical sutures also contribute to eliminating concerns about painful scarring after Dorn wart surgery.
